Loralie Ma, M.D.
Dr. Ma is a dual graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She obtained a Ph.D. degree in Biophysics (ultrasound membrane absorption) in 1988, and her M.D. in 1991. Dr. Ma then completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) in 1995. Subsequently, she completed her Fellowship in cross-sectional Imaging at JHH, and was a clinical oncology Fellow of the American Cancer Society. She became Assistant Professor of Radiology at JHH in 1996, and joined Advanced Radiology, P.A. in 1997. Dr. Ma is currently the Director of Medical Imaging of Baltimore, and serves as the Secretary of the Maryland Radiological Society. Dr. Ma is certified through the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology with an added special competency in Nuclear Medicine. Her Medical Specialty Interests include Musculoskeletal Imaging (multi-modality), MR Imaging of soft tissue masses and PET Imaging. Dr. Ma has (co) authored over 30 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, book chapters, and international meeting abstracts. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American Medical Association, American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiological Society of North America and the Maryland Radiological Society. Barton Cockey, M.D.
Dr. Cockey attended Johns Hopkins University in 1976. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1983. He is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology by The American Board of Radiology.
Bertun Ozgun, M.D.
Dr. Ozgun currently serves as the Medical Director of the Advanced Radiology Dixon Imaging Center. Dr. Ozgun graduated cum laude from University of Maryland Baltimore County, Catonsville, MD with a degree in chemistry in 1987. He earned his medical degree in 1991 from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Ozgun performed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill, NC in 1995, and his body imaging fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 1996. Dr. Ozgun’s certifications include: Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners (1992), Certified Interpreting Physician by the Mammography Quality Standards Act, and Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (1995). He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, and the American College of Radiology.
Charles Yim, M.D.
Dr. Yim is a 1993 graduate of University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and his fellowship in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Yim has been certified in Diagnostic Radiology through the American Board of Radiology since 1998.
Clifford T. Katz, M.D.
Dr. Katz received his M.D. at Johns Hopkins University in 1982. His residency in pediatrics was completed at the University of California-Marion Davies Children’s Center in Los Angeles, CA in 1985. He then returned to Baltimore , where he completed his radiology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1989 and his fellowship in Neuroradiology in 1990. Dr. Katz is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Katz’s fields of expertise include Neuroradiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging and Body Imaging.
Daniel Aronson, M.D.
Dr. Aronson graduated from New York Medical College in 1984. He then completed an internship in pediatrics at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. He completed a fellowship in cross-sectional imaging at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1990. After his fellowship, he became an attending radiologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In 1992, he entered private practice and became a part-time faculty member at Hopkins. Dr. Aronson’s medical specialty interests are in Ultrasound and Breast Imaging, including stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies. Dr. Aronson has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1989.
Danilo Espinola, M.D.
Dr. Espinola completed Medical School at the Universidad de Costa Rica in 1976, followed by one year of social service. He completed a residency in pediatrics in Hospital Nacional de Ninos in Costa Rica in 1980. From 1980 to 1982, Dr. Espinola completed a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital followed by a residency in Diagnostic Radiology from 1982 to 1985 at the same institution. He is board certified in both Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine by the American Board of Radiology.
Edward Steiner, M.D.
Dr. Edward Steiner did his undergraduate studies at Harpur College in Binghamton, New York. He completed medical school at the University of Rochester in 1982, and remained there to complete his surgical internship in 1983, followed by his residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 1986. He completed a fellowship in Abdominal Radiology and CT/MRI at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston in 1988. Dr. Steiner has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1986.
Ethan Spiegler, M.D.
Dr. Spiegler is a 1983 graduate of Yeshiva University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his residency and served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He completed a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Spiegler has been board certified in Nuclear Medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine since 1988, and board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1986.
Frederick Yeganeh, M.D.
Dr. Fred Yeganeh earned his Medical Degree at University of Maryland @ Baltimore School of Medicine in 1992. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at University of New Mexico Hospital, Albuquerque, NM in 1996, and his fellowship in Nuclear Medical at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC, in 1998. In 1999, Dr. Yeganeh was named Teacher of the Year, Cardiology Fellows, at Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Yeganeh is board certified in Nuclear Medicine with The American Board of Nuclear Medicine and in Radiology by The American Board of Radiology.
H. Alexander Munitz, M.D.
Dr. Munitz currently serves as the Chairman of Radiology at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He is a past president of the Maryland Radiologic Society. He is a 1975 graduate of the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. He completed a residency in Radiology at Baragwanath Hospital in South Africa. Dr. Munitz also completed a residency in Radiology, and a fellowship in Abdominal Radiology at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in North Carolina. He has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1984. Dr. Munitz was listed in Baltimore Magazine as a “Top Doctor” in November 2005.
Hardeep Rosy Singh, M.D.
Dr. Singh is a 1985 graduate of Howard University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Howard University Hospital, and then went on to complete a fellowship in Breast Imaging at Georgetown University Hospital. She worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital for five years prior to joining Advanced Radiology in 1997. Dr. Singh has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1991. She is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging.
Henry Wang, M.D.
Dr. Wang is a 1973 graduate of Institute of Medicine 1 in Burma. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Sinai Hospital. He also completed his fellowship in Neuroradiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Wang has been certified in Diagnostic Radiology through the American Board of Radiology since 1986.
Julian Thayer Simmons, M.D.
Dr. Simmons currently serves as Director of the Advanced Radiology Harford Imaging Center. Dr. Simmons is a 1980 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Simmons has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1984.
Jan Kim, M.D.
Dr. Kim earned her medical degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1999. Following an internship in Internal Medicine at Franklin Square Hospital Center in Baltimore, she completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Maryland Hospital. She remained at the University of Maryland to complete a fellowship in Breast Imaging in 2005. She has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 2004.
Judy Destouet, M.D.
Dr. Destouet received her M.D. from the Baylor College of Medicine in 1975. She completed her residency at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri in 1979. She is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. Her Medical Specialty interests are in Breast Imaging. She currently serves as the American College of Radiology Chair, American College of Radiology Mammography Accreditation Committee (2000-2006), as well as the American College of Radiology Task Force on Mammography Practice Issues.
Dr. Destouet was selected as one of the Top 10 “Women’s Imaging Specialists” in the USA by Medical Imaging Magazine, 2006. Baltimore Magazine selected her as a “Top Doctor” in November 2005. She was awarded the Radiologist of the Year by Advanced Radiology in 2005. Dr. Destouet has published 73 papers; her latest publication, The ACR’s Mammography Accreditation Program: Ten Years of Experience since MQSA, was published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology in 2005.
Kathleen Standiford, M.D.
Dr. Kathleen Standiford graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Biology from Yale University, New Haven, CT, in 1985. She earned her Medical Degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD in 1990. Dr. Standiford completed her internship at Graduate Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, in 1991 and her radiology residency at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. In 1995. In 1996 she completed her fellowship training in Body Imaging – US/CT/MRI at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Standiford is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by The American Board of Radiology. She is a member of American Roentgen Ray Society, Greater Delaware Valley Ultrasound Society, Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Radiological Society of North America.
Laurence Goldstein, M.D.
Dr. Goldstein currently serves as the Medical Director of the Advanced Radiology Towson Imaging Center. Dr. Goldstein attended New York Medical College and received his M.D. in 1984. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Maryland Hospital in 1989. Dr. Goldstein is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. His medical specialty interests are in Nuclear Medicine and P.E.T.
Dr. Lynn Harris-McCorkle
Dr. Harris-McCorkle attended Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1976. She attended West Virginia University Medical Center for Diagnostic Radiology in 1987. Dr. Harris-McCorkle attended University of Maryland Medical System/Hospital for her fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology. She is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with The American Board of Radiology.
Margaret Lynch-Nyhan, M. D.
Dr. Lynch-Nyhan is a 1978 graduate of the University College Cork in Ireland. She completed a residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology in 1979 at the Erinville Hospital in Ireland. Dr. Lynch-Nyhan also completed a residency in 1980 in Internal Medicine at Limerick Regional Hospital in Ireland. Between 1980 and 1982, she completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Neurology. After coming to the USA, Dr. Lynch-Nyhan completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology, and participated in an Instructorship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland. Finally, she completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Lynch-Nyhan is certified through the American Board of Radiology for Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, Diagnostic Radiology and Internal Medicine.
Morris Gavant, M.D.
Dr. Gavant currently serves as the chairman of the Department of Radiology at Baltimore-Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Advanced Radiology.
Dr. Gavant received his M.D. from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA in 1980. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1984. He has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1984. In 1995, he was among the first group of physician to receive certification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. In 1997, he received subspecialty certification in Neuroradiology.
Prior to joining Advanced Radiology in 2000, Dr. Gavant was a tenured Professor of Radiology and Urology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis and the Program Director of the Diagnostic Radiology residency and the Interventional Radiology fellowship programs. He was also director of body imaging and emergency radiology at the Elvis Presley memorial Trauma Center at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis.
He has published over fifty peer-reviewed research articles and given presentations at many national meetings. He is on the editorial advisory panel of the American Journal of Roentgenology and is a top reviewer for Radiology.
Nicholas Georges, M.D.
Dr. Georges attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, receiving his M.D. in 1988. He then completed a one-year internship in Internal Medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. His radiology residency was completed at State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1993. He returned to Baltimore, where he completed a Fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1994. Dr. Georges is Board Certified by The American Board of Radiology.
Peter Vandermeer, M.D.
Dr. Peter Vandermeer received his medical degree at New York Medical College in 2000. He completed an internship in transitional medicine in 2001 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of MD in 2005. Dr Vandermeer also completed fellowships in Neuroradiology and Informatics at the University of MD in 2006. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology.
Randy M. Becker, M.D.
Dr. Becker graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2000. He completed his internship in Transitional Medicine at the St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. Dr. Becker completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the George Washington University Hospital in 2005 and a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 2006.
Dr. Becker is currently a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, American College of Radiology, and Radiological Society of North America. He is co-author of over ten peer-reviewed scientific journal abstracts and manuscripts. Currently, he volunteers part-time as a visiting faculty member for the St. George’s University School of Medicine. Dr. Becker’s medical specialty interests include Neuroradiology and Musculoskeletal MRI and CT imaging.
Randy Tabb, M.D.
Dr. Tabb is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Geisinger Medical Center. A women’s imaging specialist with additional skills in nuclear medicine, ultrasound, thyroid imaging, and bone densitometry, Dr. Tabb has held a variety of administrative roles during his years of experience, including Director of Teleradiology, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine, and serving as Vice Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of his previous large group practice.
Richard Rosenbaum, M.D.
Dr. Rosenbaum is a 1977 graduate of the Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Georgetown University Hospital and completed his fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Rosenbaum is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with special competency in Nuclear Medicine since 1982, and has been board certified in Nuclear Medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine since 1984.
Robert Van Besien, M.D.
Dr. Van Besien is a 1985 graduate of University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and his fellowship in CT, MRI, and Ultrasound at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Van Besien has been certified in Radiology through the American Board of Radiology since 1990.
Stacey J. Keen, M.D.
Dr. Keen, a graduate of Yale University, attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine. After completing her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, she worked on staff at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1984. Her special interest is breast imaging. Dr. Keen is the author of the recently published book, Defeating Breast Cancer: A Physician’s Story of Healing, Martial Arts,and Life.
Steven Breiter, M.D.
Dr. Breiter is a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed a pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington D.C. He then completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Parkland Memorial Hospital. Dr. Breiter is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Radiology. In 1990, Dr. Breiter completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Radiology at the Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. He also completed a two-year Fellowship in Neuroradiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Breiter has received the Certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) in Pediatric Radiology. Dr. Breiter served as Chief of Pediatric Neuroradiology at Johns Hopkins University.
Tania Walton, M.D.
Dr. Tania Walton received her medical degree at Wayne State University in 1997. She completed an internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Walton completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 2002, followed by a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging and Breast Imaging at the same institution. She has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 2002.
She is a member of the Radiological society of North America, Association of University Radiologists, The American College of Radiology and New York Roentgen Ray Society, American Roentgen Ray Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Her imaging specialty interests include multimodality musculoskeletal imaging and breast imaging, including breast MRI.
Zuzana Chamrova, M.D.
Dr. Chamrova graduated from the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 1991. She also completed her residency and a fellowship in Angiography/Interventional Radiology at the University of Maryland. She is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology.
